The bark HELEN MARIA is shown
about to heave to in order to speak the brig SUSSEX of Calais,
Maine on May 20, 1847. Both vessels were coming from Ireland
with immigrants after having brought food stuffs to the starving
from America. The HELEN MARIA made a 20 day voyage from Port
Rush to Boston with 31 passengers aboard.
